June 1st – Latin Night
Latin Night: Join us for Latin sounds, Latin drinks and Latin snacks. Why? Why not? What's the occasion? Do we need one? Hopefully it will be the start of a hot summer!
May 11th – Friendly Pool/Darts competition
Friendly Pool/Darts competition: this is planned as a totally relaxed event highlighting 2 traditional bar pastimes. Sign up is not necessary though the competition is limited to members only (Premium & Regular – no walk-in guests allowed). Rules will be minimal and posted that evening. The winner(s) will get due recognition
Speedating from 20:00 Friday, 03 February
After the great success last year, Terhi has volunteered to organize this event again. Taking place onFebruary 3rd, it will give people a chance to meet one another on a more personal basis. Members and guests are welcome; marital status is of secondary importance at this lighthearted and stimulating event. (Disclaimer: the club takes no responsibility for any consequences from this evening – especially hangovers.)

Pumpkin Carving Friday, 21.10.2011
Just in time for Haloween, join our pumpkin carving event to carve a scary pumpkin to scare away your nasty neighbours. From first time carvers to those with expert carving knowledge don’t hesitate to join us, everyone is welcome! Bring all your special tools, or simply a sharp knife and a spoon, as well as any templates or creative ideas you may have. Please sign up per e-mail at [email protected]h so we can reserve you a spot. Candles and some snacks will be provided. Don’t forget to bring a pumpkin (about the size of a football) a sharp knife and a spoon.

Beer, wurst, pretzels, fun: It’s Oktoberfest!! one of our most popular events! Frido, as a long standing ‘Oktobestfest’ specialist is going to take care of this event, and with a little help from his lovely assistant Eva, the event will surely be better than ever.
Annual General Meeting (AGM) from 21:00 Friday, 11.11.2011
Time to vote for new officers and committee members and find out how the club is doing. If you are a Premium Member you can cast your vote. If you are a Basic Member you may still attend and get a feeling for how things operate behind the scenes.
Don’t worry! You can still have a drink and sit where you want during the meeting and it only lasts about half an hour to 45 minutes. So get there at 9pm and be a participant!
English Speaking Club of Bern BBQ from 17:00 Saturday, 20.08.2011
As usual, the annual ESCB BBQ promises to be loads of fun! The BBQ will again be organised by Leon and held in Bümpliz- the perfect location for plenty of shenanigans!
Take the tram number 7 (Bümpliz) to the terminal stop. Walk a few steps in direction city and turn right. You have to walk for about three minutes – and you will make out our nice hut quickly!
What to bring: Meat or other food for grilling, drinks, games, good mood etc.
Good to know: As last year, the hard core will go to the infamous ‘Bümplizer Chilbi’ afterwards. All which is required there is to still be somewhat of fit at 10:00 pm.
Cocktail Night from 20:00 Every Friday between July 15th and End of August
For those not lucky enough to venture to exotic islands to sip cocktails by the pool, why not just pop down to the club? Between July 15th and the end of August, every Friday night is cocktail night.

It’s time to turn the clocks back to the summer of ’69. Make sure you join us to revisit one of the greatest and most pivotal moments in popular music history. Chris P and Mischa promise to compile a collection of Woodstock classics that will bring a whole new meaning of peace & music to the ESCB.

Singing is good for the soul! Enjoy a couple of hours of vocalizing with friends accompanied by Stefan Bogdanov on guitar. Stefan provides the lyrics of some old pop favourites and everyone sings along. It’s easy and it’s fun! Drop in, it’s free!
