In accordance with our constitution the Annual General Meeting will be held at the English Speaking Club of Bern on November 13th at 9:00 pm.
All members are welcome to attend the meeting but only Premium members do have the right to vote. You either have to be present or you can vote in advance via postal mail. Please consult the constitution on www.englishclub.ch for further information.

Stefan provides the lyrics of some old pop favorites and everyone sings along. It’s easy and it’s fun! This is also a nonsmoking event to keep those vocal cords fine tuned! Drop in anytime, it’s free!

Posted by Nik in : English Club, Events , add a commentThis time, instead of portraits, he intends to show a selection of photographs on another theme which is close to his heart. The name of his website, Permanent Tourist, reflects the fact that he feels like a tourist wherever he is, having moved from the UK to Switzerland around eight years ago.
Thanks to making his home in a foreign country, he sees places with the eyes of a visitor; whether it’s in the region of the Bernese Oberland which he calls home, in England – where he grew up – or further afield.
The photos which he’ll be showing this time will show certain aspects of Britain. From the white beaches of Scotland to the piers along the south coast, many of Mark’s favourite places are right on the edge of the country. He has photos of cliffs, beaches and piers; pictures of wilderness, rain-lashed clifftops and dilapidated concrete facades; once glorious and now reduced to tacky plastic shop fronts. The pictures will cover the wide range of reasons why Mark loves the area around Britain’s edge.
We will be there to have a drink, sit back, and enjoy the fabulous show.
