At the beginning of the new ESCB business year – and a positive past one – I want to highlight how grateful we are for your constant support. With your membership, with each drink you have at the bar you support having an independent club for English communication and much more. Since 1978! Thank you very much!
The past two months we organised two club events: Misha hosted his first movie night (which was great!) and Leon orga-nized the BBQ once again. Thanks to both of them!
Our special events in September and October:
Mark Howells-Mead is back with his pictures! We are very pleased to announce his new show ‘Aspects of Britain’. Let’s watch this presentation together and dream of the lovely and rough British coast. It might even inspire you to take a trip to the British shores. But certainly you will feel the fresh sea breeze in your hair when Mark talks about his photos!
Only ten days afterwards, on Saturday September 26th, Mar-kus will meet us in the railway station Bern (‘Treffpunkt’) at 13.45. Together we will take the train to Zurich and will meet Mark Liebenberg with whom we are going to discover the city. Needless to say that we probably will have a drink or two as well. Meeting in Zurich will be at 15.00, also at the ‘Treffpunkt’. You have to buy your own train ticket. Please sign up for this event (mail address below), it helps us plan ahead.
Finally, what would the fall be without the ‘Oktober Fest’? Apart from Bretzel and Weisswurst we will serve the almost compulsory Weissbier. This event takes place on October 2nd .

Stefan provides the lyrics of some old pop favorites and everyone sings along. It’s easy and it’s fun! This is also a nonsmoking event to keep those vocal cords fine tuned! Drop in anytime, it’s free!

21 Bremgarten – be on time). We will then walk to the Innere Enge and later through the brand new tunnel. We hope to get our gratis ‘Bratwurst’ as well. If the queue is too long: Anyway – we will grill our own ‘Wurst’ later at the ESCB BBQ (there will be time to for shopping in between).

You come up with the ideas and this group of talented young actors will put them into action on the spot. This has been one of our most popular events, so if you’ve missed them before, here’s your chance to catch them!
